The Inqilab Manch has announced to continue the movement on five demands, including the arrest of Lucky Akhtar, one of the organizers of the Ganajagaran Manch, and his fascist accomplices, and the completion of the rape trial within three months. The peaceful movement in Shahbagh will continue until the demands are implemented, Inqilab Manch spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi announced.
He made this announcement at a human chain in Shahbagh in the capital on Wednesday (March 12) afternoon.
Hadi said, the fascism that has been established in the last 14 years, thousands of mirror houses have been built, Allama Sayedee has been killed in the name of medical treatment, and the livers of our brothers and sisters have been torn apart by shooting from helicopters, the name of the incivility that has been established is Shahbagh, Shahbagh, Shahbagh.
He said, in the last fifteen years, the mullahs have been marginalized in such a way that when they stand up for something, they shout mob mob. We have stood in many places including the Secretariat, but can anyone say that we have handed over to the police?
The five demands announced by the Inquilab Manch are – To ensure the maximum punishment for rape, the case must be settled within 90 days through a speedy trial tribunal and the false case must be tried; To destabilize the country, the attackers on the police must be arrested by forming a mob; All the conspiracies of 2013 must be exposed by arresting the butcher of Shahbagh, Lucky Akhtar, and others; A proper investigation into Shapla and all the massacres must be carried out by including the UN, and a visible trial of the July massacre must be started and the Awami League must be banned.
Inquilab Manch spokesperson Hadi said, without any kind of provocation, a Shahbagi threw a stick at the police. Police Commissioner Mamun was beaten up. After that, seven or eight terrorists attacked him. Can anyone say that the police had sticks in their hands yesterday?
Hadi said, yesterday they went to demand punishment for the rapists but they raised slogans against Yunus. The Awami League has used Shahbagis as the latest trump card. They have returned as Ansar, Tokai, and rickshaw pullers. If we were Shahbagis, we would have hung them in Shahbag. But we are not Shahbagis, so we want justice from the government.
Demanding justice, Hadi said, there are at least a thousand reasons for these murderous lucky ones to be in jail, but these lucky ones have also marched today. We will bite your poisonous teeth. The government must, must, judge them.
Inqilab Mancha Central Member Secretary Abdullah Al Jabed said during the human chain, Shahbag is rising again. The lucky ones of Shahbag are now on the streets, but they should be in jail. If anyone is thinking of building a new Shahbag, you are thinking wrongly.
DU branch member secretary Fatima Akhter Jhuma said, people have taken to the streets to protest against rape, the government has taken steps, but even then those who sought hanging instead of justice in Shahbagh, and who helped kill scholars, have risen again today. Shahbagh, which has been dismissed for 24 years, will never be a Shahbagh again, there will be no culture of impunity.
Dhaka University student AB Zubair, let these lucky Akhters roam the skies of Bengal but let them not be in the hands of India. We will not let their aim succeed while we are alive.
