“Even if you trample a thousand corpses, you won’t have a single shred of remorse…”

Zulkarnain Sayer Khan Sami, an investigative journalist and human rights activist for the popular global media Al Jazeera, has claimed that Sheikh Hasina incited the students to set fire to their homes and businesses in a group call.

He made this claim in a status on the social media Facebook on Wednesday (February 5) night.

He claimed to have spoken to Sheikh Hasina and shared a part of her (Sheikh Hasina’s) statement in his status. In the status, Sayer said, Sheikh Hasina said these things in a group call this evening. You have to decide whether a person who tramples on thousands of bodies and does not have a single shred of remorse has any right to do politics in Bangladesh.

Earlier, expatriate journalist and online activist Ilyas Hossain remembered former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in the incident of vandalism by students and the students at No. 32 in Dhanmondi. He said that this vandalism is the result of Khaleda Zia being thrown out of the cantonment.

On Wednesday (February 5) at around 9 pm, Elias wrote on his verified Facebook profile that what is happening at No. 32 is the result of Khaleda Zia being thrown out of the cantonment. Earlier, in another status, he wrote, “My brothers, let there not be a single brick left at No. 32.”

Earlier, around 8 pm, students and the public entered Dhanmondi house No. 32 with a procession. In a tense situation surrounding the previously announced online speech of Awami League President and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is in India, the students and the public entered there with a procession. At the same time, students and the public were seen vandalizing the house located there.

Earlier, the leaders and activists of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced that if Sheikh Hasina gives any speech, Dhanmondi No. 32 will be bulldozed.

The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement announced a procession program towards Dhanmondi No. 32 around Sheikh Hasina’s speech. Although the procession was supposed to start from Shahbagh at 8 pm, students started gathering in Dhanmondi 32 area since afternoon.
